With a very slight taste of pumpkin, these little muffins are a huge hit with our family. We started making these when “Our Girls” were coming to visit us on the Outer Banks. One bit of a warning, these little muffins are very addicting. You may find yourself in a sugar coma if do not eat these in moderation. And even if you are not a fan of pumpkin, you may still like this recipe. The pumpkin taste is very slight with the milk chocolate chips stealing the show.


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 1 1⁄2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 1⁄2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 eggs


  • Pre-heat oven to 350.
  • Combine flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.
  • In another bowl beat the eggs, sugar, pumpkin, and oil.
  • Stir in dry ingredients.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour into two greased 8x4x2 loaf pans.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes.
