Ocracoke Island Lighthouse on a Stormy Night

Inspired by my love for the Outer Banks, the Ocracoke Island Light Station has a large storied past being the oldest North Carolina lighthouse. Countless visitors year after year to this quaint fishing village see her light the nightly sky. Though her role in maritime navigation has become defunct with the advent of modern technology, her light still shines brightly to warn weary sailors of the perilous sail ahead.

Ocracoke Island, once a quiet fishing village, has become a popular vacation destination in the past 40 years. Accessible only by ferry boat or a private boat, Ocracoke Island continues to hang onto her culturally significant past.
